DALLAS, TX, June 20, 2002 - In a newly completed test, SmartShield Spray SPF 30 and SmartShield SPF 30 Lotion products were tested on Lineman's Rubber Insulating 14 inch Class 2 Rubber Glove, 17000 volts AC Maximum Use Voltage. These rubber gloves were manufactured and tested in accordance with the current ASTM D-120 specification and the independent laboratory found that SmartShield's products would not harm or deteriorate the rubber gloves.

The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health has stated that it intends to release a formal alert about the hazards of sun exposure to outdoor workers.
- OSHA rule 29CFR 1910.132* "does address worker exposure to the sun's radiation... pertaining to personal protective equipment" according to Melody Sands, Director, OSHA Office of Health Compliance Assistance.
- OSHA recommends that workers who spend time outdoors protect themselves from UV radiation by frequently applying sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor of 15 or higher.
